The hygienic assessment of working conditions of employees exposed to local vibration established that working conditions for employees ofvibration dangerous occupations at the aircraft plant according to the degree from a health standpoint and hazard are referred to the fourth (dangerous) class of the degree of danger that stipulates stable high levels of the morbidity rate. The leading factor is a local vibration that results in the consistently high levels of occupational morbidity rate. There was shown the efficiency of the use of the pulsed magnetic stimulation in the treatment ofpatients with vibration disease associated with the exposure to local vibration.

Although rare, infection after shoulder surgery can represent a devastating complication. Infection can negatively affect clinical outcomes, and eradication often requires a protracted treatment course. Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Propionibacterium acnes are among the most frequently isolated pathogens.

Synovial cysts are well known in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and most common in the popliteal fossa. They may produce lots of local symptoms and complaints, which may present initially as an unrelated clinical condition. Few studies have reported multiple extra-articular synovial cysts (MESCs) in the RA patients.

The influence of preoperative rotator cuff fatty infiltration (FI) and muscle atrophy (MA) on the postoperative outcome of total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) has only rarely been investigated and reported in the literature. We hypothesized that more FI and MA would be associated with a worse postoperative functional outcome.
This prospective cohort study included 63 patients (31 female and 32 male patients; mean age, 71 years [range, 53-89 years; standard deviation, 7 years]) with primary osteoarthritis of the shoulder operated on with anatomic stemless TSA.

Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) reconstruction has become increasingly popular in elite athletes. However, the prevalence of heterotopic ossification (HO) formation after UCL reconstruction has not yet been reported. We sought to determine the prevalence of HO formation after UCL reconstruction and the clinical outcomes following HO treatment.

This paper presents a control approach for a myoelectric transhumeral prostheses that supplements a typical two-site electromyograms (EMG) input with the inertial measurement of arm motion. The inertial measurement is employed to: 1) provide synergistic movement between the prosthetic elbow joint and intact upper arm and 2) to switch control between the myoelectric elbow and hand. In order to assess the prospective efficacy of the control method, experiments were conducted on six healthy subjects who performed a series of pick-and-place tasks within a virtual environment.

Investigating the interplay between muscular activity and motion is the basis to improve our understanding of healthy or diseased musculoskeletal systems. To be able to analyze the musculoskeletal systems, computational models are employed. Albeit some severe modeling assumptions, almost all existing musculoskeletal system simulations appeal to multi-body simulation frameworks.

The musculoskeletal configuration of the mammalian pectoral limb has been heralded as a key anatomical feature leading to the adaptive radiation of mammals, but limb function in the non-mammaliaform cynodont outgroup remains unresolved. Conflicting reconstructions of abducted and adducted posture are based on mutually incompatible interpretations of ambiguous osteology. We reconstruct the pectoral limb of the Triassic non-mammaliaform cynodont Massetognathus pascuali in three dimensions, by combining skeletal morphology from micro-computed tomography with muscle anatomy from an extended extant phylogenetic bracket.

The purpose of this review is to discuss the indications for reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) in the treatment of massive rotator cuff tear (MCT), review the reported outcomes in the literature, and outline our approach and surgical technique for treating these patients.
While RSA remains a successful and well-accepted treatment for cuff tear arthropathy (CTA), management of MCT in the absence of arthritis is controversial. In this particular setting, patients best suited for RSA are elderly, lower-demand individuals with chronic, irreparable MCT, and pseudoparalysis.

Acromioclavicular joint injuries are common shoulder girdle injuries most commonly resulting from a direct blow to the acromion with the arm adducted. Type-I or type-II acromioclavicular joint injuries can be managed with sling immobilization, early shoulder motion, and physiotherapy. The management of type-III injuries remains controversial and is individualized.

Movement patterns of the distal upper limb in healthy adults during functional tasks have not been extensively characterised.
