Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with cardiovascular disease, for example, myocardial infarction, stroke, cardiovascular death, and arrhythmias. The resting electrocardiogram may carry prognostic information, but limited evidence is available of electrocardiographic findings in subjects with psoriasis. The electrocardiographic results were compared between 1,131 subjects with self-reported psoriasis and 18,397 controls participating in the Danish General Suburban Population Study (GESUS).

T-wave alternans (TWA) and irregular beat-to-beat T-wave variability or T-wave lability (TWL), the ECG manifestations of action potential duration (APD) alternans and variability, are precursors of ventricular arrhythmias in long QT syndromes. TWA and TWL in patients tend to occur at normal heart rates and are usually potentiated by bradycardia. Whether or how TWA and TWL at normal or slow heart rates are causally linked to arrhythmogenesis remains unknown.

Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) originating from aortic sinus cusps is not infrequent and can be eliminated effectively by radiofrequency ablation with rare complications. However, after a review of the medical literature, and to our knowledge, this is the first case of successful idiopathic aortic sinus cusps-PVC-ablation using a 3-dimensional (3D) mapping system in an adult with dextrocardia.
A 62-year-old male with dextrocardia and situs inversus underwent catheter ablation of frequent PVCs.

Coupling interval (CI) variability of premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) is influenced by the underlying arrhythmia mechanism. The aim of this study was to compare CI variability of PVCs in different myocardial disease entities, in order to gain insight into their arrhythmia mechanism.
Sixty-four patients with four underlying pathologies were included: idiopathic (n = 16), non-ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy (NIDCM) (n = 16), familial cardiomyopathy (PLN/LMNA) (n = 16), and post-MI (n = 16)-associated PVCs.

Biotronik devices used for cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) combined with defibrillation function (CRT-D) are capable of left ventricular (LV) sensing. Under certain circumstances, LV sensing may cause loss of CRT. The third generation of the Biotronik i-family CRT-Ds enables the recording of event-triggered tracings of the electrogram particularly those involving "CRT pacing interrupt" episodes.

Premature ventricular complexes (PVCs), the first initiating beats of a variety of cardiac arrhythmias, have been associated with spontaneous calcium release (SCR) events at the cell level. However, the mechanisms underlying the degeneration of such PVCs into arrhythmias are not fully understood. The objective of this study was to investigate the conditions under which SCR-mediated PVCs can lead to ventricular arrhythmias.

This paper proposes a novel method to localize origins of premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) from 12-lead electrocardiography (ECG) using convolutional neural network (CNN) and a realistic computer heart model.
The proposed method consists of two CNNs (Segment CNN and Epi-Endo CNN) to classify among ventricular sources from 25 segments and from epicardium (Epi) or endocardium (Endo). The inputs are the full time courses and the first half of QRS complexes of 12-lead ECG, respectively.

A robust and numerically-efficient method based on two moving average filters, followed by a dynamic event-related threshold, has been developed to detect P and T waves in electrocardiogram (ECG) signals as a proof-of-concept. Detection of P and T waves is affected by the quality and abnormalities in ECG recordings; the proposed method can detect P and T waves simultaneously through a unique algorithm despite these challenges. The algorithm was tested on arrhythmic ECG signals extracted from the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database with 21,702 beats.

Exercise-induced premature ventricular complexes (EiPVCs) are often considered as benign arrhythmias, although they are associated with a high risk of all-cause death in the general healthy population. However, an intermediate pathophysiological process remains unclear, particularly in patients with known cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to find an association between EiPVCs, the occurrence of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias (LACO), and all-cause mortality in patients with cardiovascular disease.

Atrial fibrillation and heart failure are 2 of the most common diseases, yet ready means to identify individuals at risk are lacking. The 12-lead ECG is one of the most accessible tests in medicine. Our objective was to determine whether a premature atrial contraction observed on a standard 12-lead ECG would predict atrial fibrillation and mortality and whether a premature ventricular contraction would predict heart failure and mortality.

Premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) have always been a matter of debate among physicians and a cause for concern for family members of affected patients. The available literature on isolated PVCs in children is limited to case reports and small single-center retrospective series that are consistent in demonstrating the benign course of PVCs and their frequent disappearance during childhood, though many questions remain unanswered. Nevertheless, two key actions should be undertaken in pediatric patients with documented PVCs: 1) to rule out the presence of structural heart disease; 2) to determine whether symptoms are due to PVCs, or whether PVC frequency is responsible for left ventricular dysfunction.

Treatment of ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) commonly involves ablating sites showing electrograms with the earliest activity relative to the VA, but there is no threshold value for prematurity guaranteeing success. Ablation of sites with great prematurity can still result in failure. We hypothesized that isochronal map area (ISCA), derived from isochrones indicating electrogram prematurity, could help identify ablation targets in VA patients, as well as predict outcome.

Polymorphic premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) are very common, appearing most frequently in patients with hypertension, obesity, sleep apnea, and structural heart disease. Sympathetic hyperactivity plays a critical role in the development, maintenance, and aggravation of ventricular arrhythmias. Endurance exercise training clearly lowers sympathetic activity in sympatho-excitatory disease states and may be tolerated by patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).
