To study the prevalence of chronic perinatal pain among mothers who had infants between the ages of 13-25 months in the State of Kerala, India and to report its correlates in the socio-demographic, obstetric and psychological domains.
A total of 9305 mothers selected by cluster random sampling were assessed cross-sectionally for chronic perinatal pain using a questionnaire by Junior Public Health Nurses (JPHNs). Abrupt normalization of hyperthyroid state with antithyroid drugs is reported to precipitate psychosis. We report the development of acute psychosis in a 20-year-old woman, following 30 days use of tablet carbimazole 10 mg for hyperthyroidism due to the multinodular goiter. At the time of presentation, she was euthyroid with a resolution of hyperthyroid status both clinically and biochemically.

Evidence from phenomenological, family, genetic, and treatment studies from Western centers have suggested that tic-related obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) could be different from non-tic-related OCD. This study from India investigated the differences in OCD with and without tics, with respect to sociodemographics, symptom profile, and comorbidity, including obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders, to examine whether the clinical profile of tic-related OCD is similar to that reported previously.

Juvenile obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) has been hypothesized to be different from adult-onset OCD suggesting that juvenile OCD may be a developmental subtype of the disorder.
