Herein, we present the synthesis and systematic comparison of Sn- and Co-Sn-based nanoparticles (NPs) as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. These nanomaterials were produced via inexpensive routes combining wet chemical synthesis and dry mechanochemical methods (ball milling). We demonstrate that oxidized, nearly amorphous CoSnONPs, in contrast to highly crystalline Sn and CoSnNPs, exhibit high cycling stability over 1500 cycles, retaining a capacity of 525 mA h g(92% of the initial capacity) at a high current density of 1982 mA g.

The depressive state has been characterised as one of elevated inflammation, changed cardiovascular parameters and a deranged metabolic situation all of which holds promise for a better understanding and handling of treatment-resistance in affective disorders as well as for future developments in treatment algorithms. In this context several biomarkers are differentially regulated by antidepressant treatment and connected to metabolic, inflammatory, cardiovascular and apoptotic components of the pathophysiology, i.e.

The pyrrolyl-based iron pincer compounds [(PNP)FeCl] (1), [(PNP)FeN] (2), and [(PNP)Fe(CO)] (3) were prepared and structurally characterized. In addition, their electronic ground states were probed by various techniques including solid-state magnetic susceptibility and zero-fieldFe Mössbauer and X-band electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. While the iron(II) starting material 1 adopts an intermediate-spin (S = 1) state, the iron(I) reduction products 2 and 3 exhibit a low-spin (S =/) ground state.

Grafting molecular precursors on partially dehydroxylated silica followed by a thermal treatment yields silica-supported M(III) sites for a broad range of metals. They display unique properties such as high activity in olefin polymerization and alkane dehydrogenation (M = Cr) or efficient luminescence properties (M = Yb and Eu) essential for bioimaging. Here, we interrogate the local structure of the M(III) surface sites obtained from two molecular precursors, amides M(N(SiMe))vs siloxides (M(OSi(OBu))·L with L = (THF)or HOSi(OBu)for M = Cr, Yb, Eu, and Y, by a combination of advanced spectroscopic techniques (EPR, IR, XAS, UV-vis, NMR, luminescence spectroscopies).

HPA axis functioning plays an important role in the etiology of schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD). However, only few studies have examined HPA axis responsivity to psychosocial stress in SSD, and results are heterogeneous. Furthermore, childhood trauma is known to influence psychopathology and treatment outcome in SSD, but studies on the influence of childhood trauma on stress related HPA axis activity are missing.

Consuming a calorically dense diet stimulates microglial reactivity in the mediobasal hypothalamus (MBH) in association with decreased number of appetite-curbing pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC) neurons; whether the reduction in POMC neuronal function is secondary to the microglial activation is unclear. Here we show that in hypercaloric diet-induced obese mice, persistently activated microglia in the MBH hypersecrete TNFα that in turn stimulate mitochondrial ATP production in POMC neurons, promoting mitochondrial fusion in their neurites, and increasing POMC neuronal firing rates and excitability. Specific disruption of the gene expressions of TNFα downstream signals TNFSF11A or NDUFAB1 in the MBH of diet-induced obese mice reverses mitochondrial elongation and reduces obesity.

To compare the ward atmosphere, safety, therapeutic hold, and patients' coherence on recently opened (1 year), opened (4 years) and open (> 20 years) psychiatric wards in a longitudinal naturalistic study design. The question was if a patient shift from formerly locked to open wards might deteriorate the ward atmosphere on the open and opened wards.
Ward atmosphere on two recently opened (n = 2), opened (n = 2) and open (n = 2) wards was examined using the Essen Climate Evaluation Schema (EssenCES) in a follow-up study after 4 years.

The uranium metallacyclocumulene, [η-1,3-(MeC)CH]U(η-CPh) (2) was isolated by the reduction of [η-1,3-(MeC)CH]UCl(1) with potassium graphite (KC) in the presence of 1,4-diphenylbutadiyne (PhC[triple bond, length as m-dash]C-C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CPh) in good yield. Furthermore it was fully characterized including the determination of its molecular structure; and the reactivity of 2 towards various small unsaturated organic molecules was explored. For example, while complex 2 shows no reactivity with alkynes and 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy), it reacts as a nucleophile when exposed to carbodiimides, diazabutadienes, isothiocyanates, ketones, and pyridine derivatives, leading to five-, seven- or nine-membered heterometallacycles.

Opioid dependence often is a chronic relapsing disorder. The evidence for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) being the treatment of first choice is unequivocal. Yet, health systems, professionals and patients often fail to offer or, respectively, to enter long-term and low-threshold MAT and instead treat opioid dependence as a semi-acute disorder.

The uranium metallacyclopropene (η-CMe)U[η-C(SiMe)] (1) reacts with various small unsaturated organic molecules. For example, replacement of bis(trimethylsilyl)acetylene occurs when complex 1 is exposed to alkynes, conjugated alkenes, nitriles and quinones. Reaction of 1 with internal phenyl(alkyl)acetylene PhC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CMe selectively yields the Csymmetric uranium metallacyclopentadiene (η-CMe)U[η-C(Ph)[double bond, length as m-dash]C(Me)-C(Ph)[double bond, length as m-dash]C(Me)] (6) after the loss of bis(trimethylsilyl)acetylene, while treatment of 1 with phenyl(silyl)acetylenes (PhC[triple bond, length as m-dash]CR, R = SiHMe, SiMe) gives the corresponding Csymmetric isomers (η-CMe)U[η-C(R)[double bond, length as m-dash]C(Ph)-C(Ph)[double bond, length as m-dash]C(R)] (R = SiHMe(7), SiMe(8)).

Buprenorphine is a partial µ-opioid receptor agonist used for maintenance treatment of opioid dependence. Because of the partial agonism and high receptor affinity, it may precipitate withdrawal symptoms during induction in persons on full µ-opioid receptor agonists. Therefore, current guidelines and drug labels recommend leaving a sufficient time period since the last full agonist use, waiting for clear and objective withdrawal symptoms, and reducing pre-existing full agonist therapies before administering buprenorphine.

The synthesis, structure, and reactivity of a uranium metallacyclopropene were comprehensively studied. Reduction of (η(5)-C5Me5)2UCl2 (1) with potassium graphite (KC8) in the presence of bis(trimethylsilyl)acetylene (Me3SiC≡CSiMe3) allows the first stable uranium metallacyclopropene (η(5)-C5Me5)2U[η(2)-C2(SiMe3)2] (2) to be isolated. Magnetic susceptibility data confirm that 2 is a U(IV) complex, and density functional theory (DFT) studies indicate substantial 5f orbital contributions to the bonding of the metallacyclopropene U-(η(2)-C═C) moiety, leading to more covalent bonds between the (η(5)-C5Me5)2U(2+) and [η(2)-C2(SiMe3)2](2-) fragments than those in the related Th(IV) compound.

Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) are potential low-cost alternatives to lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) because of the much greater natural abundance of sodium salts. However, developing high-performance electrode materials for SIBs is a challenging task, especially due to the ∼50% larger ionic radius of the Na(+) ion compared to Li(+), leading to vastly different electrochemical behavior. Metal phosphides such as FeP, CoP, NiP(2), and CuP(2) remain unexplored as electrode materials for SIBs, despite their high theoretical charge storage capacities of 900-1300 mAh g(-1).
